One Year Ago Today...

Lauren had her surgery on July 26th of last year. Today I just kept thinking about how blessed we are that her surgery went so well last year and for how well she has recovered. She has come so far and gone through so much in the time leading up to her surgery and in this last year following it. She really is such a big miracle for such a little girl. I just thought I would share a few photos of our sweet Lauren; we are so blessed to have her, and so blessed to have gone through this first journey with her. We have had some big trials, but the sweet blessings that have followed outweigh them.

A Little Nudge

It seems that I've recently been struggling with a lot of the simple, little things. Sometimes the easy things are the hardest for me because they just seem so easy that I end up putting them off or disregard them altogether. Aah! And then it turns out that the little things really do make a big difference, and the answer to my different struggles are right in front of my face, and so simple! Tonight Drew finally just gave me the much needed nudge to just go and do. I am blessed for this, because I did and I know that if I keep it up it will make a difference in my life, even though it may be a little thing to do.

A Day at Home

After our two long weekends away it's been hard to get back in the swing of things so this morning I was all ready to get us back to our normal schedule with a morning filled with grocery shopping, library class, and a visit to grandma's house, but as the girls were excitedly playing with their own toys and having fun together after breakfast I just felt prompted to stay put and enjoy a simple day at home. I am glad that we did. Sometimes too much go-go-go can wear a person out, let alone little toddlers, and it was so nice just to have a relaxing day and really let me and the girls get rejuvinated from our trips. I feel blessed to be inspired to 'just say no' to a super busy life and to be able to reschedule our activities for different times so we could just play together at home.

Home Again

Can I just say that there is truly no place like home. Tonight, at 11:30pm we finally returned home. The drive seemed so long, but the girls were actually quite great, and that is what I am so thankful for. Drew and I came up with some interesting ways to keep them happy in their back seats and they did much better this week than last week despite the late hour of departure. Long drives are always such a burden to me that I dread for the hours preceding them, and so I always feel so blessed and thankful to make it home and be safe and sane when we arrive.
