Family Friday

Today was such a fun day. Drew was able to take the day off so I spent the morning in Tacoma at the jobsite for the architecture project I'm working on then we had all afternoon together and then we took the girls to the Children's Museum tonight as a family activity. I feel so blessed for time that I have by myself or for myself, especially because it makes me value all of our family time, which we were so blessed to have lots of today.

Surprise Blessing

Going into today I thought my blessing post would be about my scheduled scrapbook playdate with a friend at my house, but after that I received a surprise blessing: I was asked by the contractor from my last architecture project to do another project for him. Hooray! It was so unexpected and so exciting. I love all my little doses of architecture that I can get and I feel very blessed for this opportunity.

Family Day

Today we were able to brave the crowds and meet Drew for lunch at Dennys for their free Grand Slam promotion. Then, after dinner we took the girls swimming at the pool. It was so great to spend so much time together as a family, especially on a normal weekday when life sometimes gets pretty crazy. What a great day together with our little fam!

My Little Helper

Today was such a fun day. Abigail and I worked on a project together, with just the two of us, and we both really loved working together. She really is my little helper and such a great blessing.

Sweet Sister

My biggest blessing of the day came this morning before I even got out of bed- that makes for a pretty good start to a day : ). Abigail and Lauren had woken up and crawled into bed with Drew and I and Abbie was being the sweetest big sister she's ever been. All of the corrective phrases I've been teaching her on how to react and treat her sister suddenly surfaced and I even started crying as I heard her being so sweet to Lauren. Here is a little tidbit from their conversations:

A: Oh, come her Sweetie, it's okay. Do you want a hug?

L: Dah (yeah)

hugs

then Lauren pulls away and smacks Abbie across the face (ouch)

A: It's okay, Sweetie, you just made a mistake. Please don't hit me again, it hurts my feelings.

L: Diss? (kiss)

Lauren gives Abbie a kiss

and so forth...

I was just so impressed with how patient Abbie was with her as they cuddled and played for twenty or so minutes in the covers. What a little sweetie! And what a big blessing for her Mama.
