Teamwork

TodayI feel very blessed to work on several projects with Drew. I think we make a pretty good team : ). We built some new planters for the backyard (between snow showers) and helped get Tabitha's birthday cake ready. I sure love projects and today I feel very blessed to be doing them with my sweetie.

New Friends

Today the girls and I had a playdate with some new friends. It is always nice to make a new friend, and I feel very blessed to have met someone and to be a part of each others lives, even if it's just for a short time. Abigail especially loves making new friends- all day she could only talk about her new friend, Bronson, and how fun he was -she even said she was going to marry him (!). Her enthusiasm just reminded me that friends are such a big blessing. And I am glad to have made a new one.

Sunshine

What a simple blessing sunshine is, but these last few weeks I feel like I've really been needing it and today it was here! Just in the morning and then was rained away, but it was so wonderful to be outside and actually feel a little warm. The girls and I played in the backyard for over an hour this morning and it truly brightened my day. I am blessed by sunshine!

Family Free Time

I feel so blessed today for free family time. I had a quick project that I wanted to get started and finished, but Abigail came up to me with a ball and we started passing it back and forth and it turned into a huge house-wide keep away game with everyone and it was so fun. It's sometimes easy to say that 'family comes first,' but it really is so beautiful and wonderful when I see it happening in real life. That little bit of family time and realizing that it brings me so much joy was such a great blessing.

Drew to the Rescue

Today was a pretty rotten day- at least the morning. I woke up with a splitting headache (maybe a migraine?- I'm just not sure, I don't normally get headaches like this) and could not get it to subside and couldn't really function to take care of myself or the girls properly. It was the most helpless feeling to be so out of commission to not be able to snuggle and be patient and play with my girls. I finally called Drew out of desperation to come and rescue me.... and he did.

He is such a big blessing to me and today was really my knight in shining armor. I know that I always come first for him, and I also know the demands of his job and I know that he is consciously making a sacrifice to come home on a seconds notice like today. He is my biggest blessing.

After he came and I was able to rest and eat and take a shower and even take the girls on a short walk I was feeling much better. When the girls woke up from their naps I was headache free and we had a nice afternoon and evening together.
