Aunt Melissa

Today Melissa and her boyfriend, Andrew, came to visit! I was so excited and thrilled to see them and so were the girls! We sure love Aunt Melissa so much and miss her and the girls just wanted to spend every minute today with her- it was so sweet. We are blessed that they travelled safely and I feel blessed that they decided to come and spend a super-fast weekend with us in the midst of their busy schedules. We love you, Melissa!

Working as a Family

Today I am blessed for the principle of work and the fun I enjoy while working hard. When Drew got home from work we decided to eat a quick dinner and then get to work in the backyard as a family. It really is a blessing to work, and especially to teach our kids to work. It was quite a picturesque moment as Drew was digging up the strawberries from their old planter, the girls were taking turns wheelbarrowing them over to me, and I was planting them in the new planter. The moment didn't last too long; Lauren had an accident and we had to rush her inside to clean her up, but still I am blessed for that moment and for the value of work.

Helper Abbie

I am grateful and blessed for my little helper, Abbie. She sometimes drives me crazy, but she really is such a good girl and a great helper! It has been so fun working on projects together and letting her help me and giving her ownership of the projects we do. Recently we have been working on beds for her and Lauren. They are Drew and Derk's old bunk beds and need a lot of work. We have been sanding and sanding (mostly Drew) and today we started priming the first piece. Abigail looks forward so much to her project time with me, and it really is a blessing. I know she might not always be so excited to be my little helper, so I'm going to enjoy these precious moments the best I can.

Girl Time

Tonight was Enrichment and it was so much fun! It really is a blessing to get some good girl time with other moms and women and to laugh about the things that sometimes drive us crazy. I feel very blessed to have that time today and for the preparation that went into a great dinner and evening- I just wish it would have lasted longer! : ).

My Rock

Today I feel extra blessed and grateful for my rock, Jesus Christ. I know that is through Him that I can all things and get through anything. Today I spoke with a friend who is really struggling with some trials and it just broke my heart. I just kept thinking about how real Satan is, and how he takes good people and tries to make them miserable like himself- I hate that guy! It breaks my heart to see when he is successful and cripples someone who could walk strong if they would but rely on their Savior for protection. I definitely am not perfect, not anywhere close, but I do know that everytime I get down on myself or get frustrated with Drew or feel like our family is in chaos that it is Satan who is causing it, and it makes me double my efforts to be more Christlike and try harder and put first things first. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else, but it really helps me and I feel blessed today to know that Christ is my rock and that if I just rely on Him than I really can do all things.

Girls in Sunday School

Today's Sunday School lesson went so well! I've been thinking and praying for my class a lot and I think our lessons usually go well and that they're learning, but today's just seemed extra good. Plus, there were girls in my class- girls! I love the boys I teach, and it's been solid boys for quite a few weeks now so it was an extra blessing that three girls came today. I think the boys liked it too : ). This calling is such a blessing to me in so many ways. I love learning more thoroughly about the gospel, I love presenting it to these teenage rascals, I love learning more about their lives, and I love feeling the spirit and know they feel it too. I am so blessed.
